Coffee's Recommended Anki Settings

Get Anki

This is what I suggest for using anki, there's nothing complicated about setting it up, just copy the numbers in the images on your deck settings. The number of new cards per day depends on you, but more than 10 to 15 per day is going to become tedious in the long run.

With these settings you'll average 20 to 30 minutes of anki or less per day with 10 new cards per day.

IMPORTANT

Don't use the EASY and HARD buttons. The explanation can be complicated but it's not something that will help you with language learning in a meaningful way.

Install this addon: https://github.com/lambdadog/passfail2/releases It removes those buttons for you. Less things to think about.

The "10 1440" learning steps asks you to pass a card ONCE after 10 minutes of seeing it, and then in one day. If you fail tomorrow, you need to pass it in 10 minutes. The goal is to keep it like this until you finally learn it. Then let it get penalized if you fail it to see it more often, if needed.

If you don't see the Card Retirement settings it's because you haven't installed the Migaku Card Retirement addon, or some other addon that does the same thing. The interval is 380 days so that you still get a rep after one year.
